Hortonville and Winneconne, Wisconsin, communities are grieving the sudden passing of Hayley Ackerman, a cherished resident known for her dedication to public service and vibrant spirit.

Hayley Ackerman, a dedicated public servant and passionate individual, passed away earlier this week. Her family and friends continue to honor her memory through heartfelt tributes and shared memories.

Born to Robin Powell and James “Jim” Ackerman, Hayley was deeply rooted in the Wisconsin community, contributing significantly as a police officer and community advocate.

Hayley joined the Winneconne Police Department as a part-time officer, officially sworn in alongside Officer Noah Brandl in May 2026. Her commitment extended to the department’s K9 unit, where she excelled in her duties.

Her academic achievements included earning an associate degree in forensic science from Fox Valley Technical College in 2026, alongside receiving the FVTC Benefit Golf Outing Scholarship.

Beyond law enforcement, Hayley pursued her love for animals as a veterinary technician assistant and expressed her artistic side through pole dancing and aerial performance. Her social media showcased her adventurous spirit, featuring activities like ATV riding, motorcycling, and exploring nature on horseback.

As a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Hayley’s enthusiasm for football was evident in her lifestyle and social media presence, celebrating games and team spirit. Her multifaceted personality brought joy and inspiration to those around her.

Hayley’s contributions as a dancer, officer, and animal lover will forever be cherished by the Wisconsin community.
