Jordan David Kranz, a Westport, Connecticut, and former athlete, succumbed to cancer on Monday, October 27, 2026, at the age of 31, after an extended and valiant struggle with the disease.

Jordan faced numerous health issues starting at age 14, including a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis and a recurring brain tumor that first appeared at 15.

Despite undergoing three brain surgeries along with extensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Jordan's battle ended on Monday.

The untimely death of Jordan Kranz has deeply affected his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Born on July 15, 1994, to Raechel and Steven Kranz in Westport, Jordan was celebrated for his exceptional athletic abilities and warm, optimistic personality.

As a standout student-athlete at Staples High School, he excelled in football and lacrosse, serving as both wide receiver and defensive back for the varsity team, graduating in 2012.

During his senior year, wearing jersey #27, the team achieved an impressive 11-1 record, securing a top-five state ranking.

Jordan also received the prestigious Scholar-Athlete Award during his high school tenure.

After high school, he pursued higher education at The University of Pennsylvania, where he earned dual degrees in Mathematics and Economics by 2016.

He was also an active member of the OZ fraternity during college.

Previously, he worked at Mizuho for five years as a healthcare investment banking analyst and associate, plus a summer internship at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management in Stamford, CT.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jordan was devoted to his fiancée, Lauren Halpert, whom he planned to marry in December 2026.

Jordan and Lauren shared a deep bond, and their engagement marked another chapter in their journey together.

He is survived by his siblings—sisters Brooke Sheiner and Colby Kranz, brother Carson Kranz—and his parents, Raechel and Steven.
