The East Peoria community mourns the sudden loss of Justin Daniel Hamilton, a devoted educator and athletic leader at East Peoria Community High School.
At 51, Justin succumbed to a heart attack during a hike, leaving behind a grieving family and a community deeply affected by his absence.
Justin was married to Sara Hamilton and a proud father to daughters Sophie and Josie. The family resided in Marquette Heights, where Justin's roots ran deep. Born and raised in Pekin, Illinois, he dedicated his life to education and sports.
Known for mentoring young minds and pushing them toward excellence, Justin led the EPCHS cross-country team and served as head coach for the Boys' Track and Field program, a role he recently assumed in 2026. He also championed the chess club at Central Junior High School for six years, showcasing his commitment to nurturing diverse talents.
His vision extended to launching a new Disc Golf Club at EPCHS, aiming to broaden student engagement in athletics.
