Worcester and East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, communities mourn the untimely death of beloved native and former athlete, Jack Harold Forsyth.
Jack Forsyth died on December 13, 2026, at age 20; details surrounding his passing remain undisclosed by his family.
Born December 30, 2004, in Springfield, Massachusetts, as the only child of Sean M. and Maura E. (Beek) Forsyth, Jack was cherished locally for his athletic talent and compassionate spirit.
Graduating summa cum laude from East Longmeadow High School in 2026, Jack excelled across multiple sports, leading his teams to victory while embodying sportsmanship.
As a standout on varsity hockey and lacrosse teams, he recorded two career assists, including a pivotal play in a 3-2 win over Amherst in February 2026.
Active in the National Honor Society, Jack balanced academics and athletics with dedication. Though he did not pursue professional sports, he aimed to build a career in engineering.
He earned a scholarship to Worcester Polytechnic Institute for aerospace engineering studies, with graduation planned for 2027.
Jack also belonged to Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and interned at True Robotics Inc.

Jack’s father, Sean M. Forsyth, continues to share memories online despite his grief.
Survivors include paternal grandmother Loretta Forsyth, uncles Stephen J. Beek (Tiffany), Joseph E. Beek (Barbara), Carl J. Forsyth (Doreen), aunt Kara Venne (Ronald), cousins, and extended family.
Jack is preceded by his mother, Maura (Beek) Forsyth, grandmother Margaret Beek, maternal grandfather Harold F. Beek, and paternal grandfather John C. Forsyth.
His mother, Maura Elizabeth Forsyth, passed away December 22, 2026, after battling cancer at 53 years old. A dedicated registered nurse, she worked at Mercy Hospital, Baystate Medical Center, and Pioneer Valley Surgical Center for three decades.
Family plans a viewing at Sampson Chapel of the Acres funeral home on December 19, 2026, followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Parish on December 20.
Private burial. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or NAMI Western Massachusetts.
