A 16-year-old Francis Scott Key High School varsity football player, Seven Ernesto Rupp, best known as Seven Rupp, from Westminster, Maryland, passed away on Monday morning, December 15, 2026, after battling severe injuries from a recent car accident.
The collision occurred on December 2, 2026, along Jasontown Road near John Hyde Road, involving a Ford F-250 carrying five local teenagers.
The vehicle lost control, slid off the road, flipped multiple times, and landed partially submerged in Little Pipe Creek.
Among the victims was 16-year-old Cash Owings, who died shortly after sustaining critical injuries. Three other teens were injured but later discharged from the hospital.
Seven, seated in the back seat, suffered catastrophic head trauma requiring several complex surgeries, including craniotomies to alleviate dangerous swelling.
He was admitted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he remained on a ventilator and under heavy sedation for weeks as his body fought to stabilize.
Survivors include his father Lucas Rupp, sister Ava Rose, grandfather Daniel Malone, and aunt Casi Densmore, alongside extended family members.
Lucas raised Seven and Ava alone after their mother succumbed to cancer years earlier.
